In other exciting news......

Lola signed more for the first time today. I really haven't worked much on signing with her except when she is on the potty. I have a sign book and we go through a lot of books during our 15 min potty stops. I asked her if she wanted more apple and did the sign and she did it right back. It amazes me how fast they change and learn at this age.

She is loving her baby dolls a lot. Besides books, cats and being outside, these are the next best thing. Its so sweet to see her love on them and stroll them around.

We are back in swim class and she enjoys it even more now. The bad thing is when we get in, she doesn't want to be held onto. So we go through this power struggle for the first 5 minutes. Last week at the end of the class, we were in the very shallow end and she pulled away from me and fell backwards under water. I swear it was like slow motion. Her eyes were wide open and she was terrified looking up at me under the water. She was shaken up for about 30 seconds, then she was back to trying to get away from me. Scared me more than her I think.

We go to get her development checked at a local preschool tomorrow. Should be interesting...

Bad Ass Salsa!

Finally I have discovered the way to make an excellent salsa! Since we have had never ending quantities of homegrown tomatoes, I was setting out to make some homemade roasted tomato soup. Well it didn't make it that far. I am so excited.

Roasted tomatoes+roasted head of garlic+onion, cumin, chili, salt,fresh lime juice, and lots of cilantro, all blended in the processor= kick ass salsa!

I must say she has been slightly less clingy the last two days. I think we are on the downhill side of this nasty cold that always seems to come every 6-8 weeks. Which the Dr. says is normal. We had our 15 month check up yesterday. 22.4lbs and 30 inches...thats alot of booby milk baby:)

Have avoided posting because I became self conscious thinking of other people viewing what I wrote. Seems like most of the blogs I read, the authors are actual writers. Good writers. I actually despise putting my thoughts on paper(or computer) because I don't come across how I perceive myself to be. But fuck it, all this ever was supposed to be was my fun with Lola. I just found myself obsessing over what I should write, like there is a following to this blog:) LOL! I want to vent about how fucked up the world is(wars, ect.), how stupid people are and just bitching in general but I want to keep this as upbeat as possible. Anyway, onto my sweet little girl.

She is all over walking, has been for 4 weeks now. Hells bells, she is awake again, what do I do? I almost always go back to her and nurse her back to sleep or at least till she is almost asleep. Yes I am STILL nursing. She is still such a titmouse. She seemed to cut back around her birthday, but now it seems she has picked it up full force again. She is calling.........

How time flies when you're having fun. I cant believe its been a year since my little froglet came into my life! I could only have dreamed how much she would rock my world. Luckily there was no one to take her away in the first couple of weeks because I just might have sent her back!! Oh those BAD baby blues. Thank God they didn't get the best of me and now she is the light of my life. She brings me happiness beyond comprehension and a love greater than can be described or contained, with a little exhaustion thrown in for good measure.:) So much has changed this year, the fastest year of my life thus far. Its awesome to see a tiny, helpless baby grow into a onery, little ball of energy and wonder. She is my perfect little angel, my flower slowly blossoming. My titmouse! Yes she earned the title, that's for sure. She is everything to me. I LOVE YOU LOLA GRACE!

Lola's first official haircut

Lola had her first offical haircut today. I have snipped it many times while in the bath but this was her first salon trip. She sat fairly still and didnt throw too big a fit. I did have to whip out the booby towards the end though. Booby makes it all better:)
